In the evolving field of health technology, maintaining a position of innovation is essential for achieving success. MediRecords launched their cloud-based practice management and clinical systems in 2014 and since then, have been continually evolving based on health provider needs. In this episode recorded at Digital Health Festival featuring Jayne Thompson, we discuss the latest developments with MediRecords.

Meet Jayne Thompson

Jayne Thompson is the Head of Product at MediRecords, a digital health platform founded in 2014. The Evolution of MediRecords

The growth of MediRecords has been significant. Virtual care has been a large driver of their growth recently, allowing providers to deliver care beyond clinic walls. They have collaborated with various organisations and health systems to enhance their virtual emergency department capabilities by providing electronic prescribing and other clinical capabilities.

Introducing MediRecords 2.0

MediRecords 2.0, which is due to go live in early August, marks a new phase for the company, driven by an ongoing dedication to customer experience and user satisfaction. The updated user interface features a fresh look and feels while retaining core workflows

The design team at MediRecords focused on optimising screen space, ensuring that every pixel contributes to efficient information display. While the changes are significant, they have carefully balanced familiarity with innovation to minimise disruption for existing users. The new UI has received overwhelmingly positive feedback during customer sessions, indicating a seamless transition to the updated platform.

Preparing for the Transition

Transitioning to a new user interface is always challenging but particularly in healthcare. MediRecords has meticulously prepared for this change for its customer base, investing nine months in design, testing, and documentation updates. Extensive regression testing and internal discussions have ensured a smooth transition for users. To gather real-world feedback, a pilot phase was implemented with seven customers, which has provided valuable insights and opportunities for fine-tuning before the full release. The company is well aware of the importance of supporting customers during this transition and has taken extensive measures to ensure a positive experience.
